The Engineering Specialist Is A Skilled Technician Who Reviews, Approves, Organizes, And Tracks Commercial And Residential Construction Development Plans For Roadway, Sidewalk, And Utility Projects Throughout The City Of Greensboro. This Position Supports Divisional Engineering Functions That Includes Technical Review Committee (TRC) Roadway, Water, Sewer, And Storm Water Infrastructure Plan Review, As-built Review And Coordination/approval, Reviewing, Maintaining Inspection And Release Records And Supporting Construction Inspections/Engineering With Departmental Databases. The Engineering Specialist Works Independently Under The Supervision Of The Construction Projects Coordinator And Given Broad Latitude In Creative Thinking To Interpret And Apply State And Local Development Rules, Regulations, And Policy In The Development Plan Review, Approval, And Permitting Process. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of The Principles Of Engineering Design And Construction Inspection As Related To Site Development, Land Development And Public Works.
